Read X bookmarks offline with text, avatars and media

An offline collection needs the post records and the actual media files you want to view. A JSON file with image or video URLs is a record backup; it does not download the files behind those URLs.

What each selection saves

JSON preserves structured post records, including collected text, author names and media addresses. That text remains available without the network when opened in a compatible viewer.

Selecting author avatars saves the actual avatar files. Select post images for image files, and video/GIF for playable media and associated thumbnails. Unselected or failed media is not available offline.

Create the offline package

After collecting or importing records, choose the content scope and time range on Home. Keep JSON selected and choose the media you want. Review item counts and estimated size before downloading; video can dominate the total.

Download the selected content. The media export combines records, successfully saved media and the HTML viewer in a named ZIP. Large exports can have size-related packaging limits; review the output and any failure summary rather than assuming every selected file succeeded.

Open the viewer locally

Extract the ZIP into a folder, keeping its contents together. Open the included HTML viewer in a browser. You do not need to upload your archive to the developer to read it.

The included viewer reads the packaged records and local media. Moving only the HTML page breaks its relative paths. Keep the extracted folder or original ZIP when transferring the archive to another device.

Check before relying on it

Turn off the network and open several posts, avatars and selected images. Play a selected video. An online thumbnail or a browser-cached image alone does not prove the complete package works offline.

A record can still be readable when its media was not selected or could not be fetched. Reconnect, retry the unavailable media where supported and export again if needed.
